When Ben and Becky decided to tie the knot, they didn’t just want a wedding—they wanted an adventure. So, they packed their bags, said goodbye to rainy England, and headed to Slovenia. Their destination? Vogel, a beautiful mountain accessible only by cable car.
Let’s talk about that cable car ride for a second. For most, it’s a fun way to reach the clouds. For Becky’s dad, however, with a serious fear of heights, not so much. But guess what? Love conquers all fears! He braved the cable car to see his daughter say “I do”. If that’s not a story to tell at every family dinner forever, I don’t know what is :).
The ceremony itself was intimate, relaxed, and surrounded by jaw-dropping alpine views. My favourite moment? It has to be when Ben saw Becky for the first time. As her father walked her down the aisle at the ceremony, Ben’s eyes instantly welled up with tears. He couldn’t hide how deeply moved he was, and honestly, neither could anyone watching, including me and it was my first time meeting them that day. Moments like these remind me why I love what I do.
After the ceremony, the party moved down to Hotel Majerca by Lake Bohinj. And this is where things got very Slovenian. Turns out, our little country isn’t just known for its beautiful landscapes—we’re also pros at turning fruit into spirits. From plum schnapps to pear brandy, Ben, Becky, and their guests got a full crash course in Slovenian spirit culture.
The evening ended with a cozy, laid-back celebration filled with delicious food, heartfelt speeches, and plenty of dancing. Everything was perfectly planned by the talented Petra Starbek.
